Budding Artist

This is why you don't leave a 2 year old alone with markers!!!

I sat Reagan down this morning to color a picture for her Grandma Humphrey who just had surgery (Get well soon Grandma!!) but soon got a phone call. I forgot that I had given her markers and started walking around the house talking to a friend I hadn't spoken with for awhile. This is what I found when I came back to the dining room.....

She even took the time to color in her belly button!! LOL

What a cute little ham!!

Notice the "tattoos" on her arms

ps...mommy sewed this dress for her :-)

My sister Shana and her family recently drove up to Ohio all the way from Texas. We only get to see them about twice a year, if that, so it was really great spending time with them. The kids all got along great. Reagan age 2, Grant age 2 1/2 and Cooper age 3 1/2 sat on Mimi and Papa's back steps and shared watermelon. Cooper was basically feeding Reagan and Grant! Too cute. All the guys enjoyed the basketball court my parent's neighbors recently put in their backyard. We can't wait until our next visit with them. Hopefully it won't be too long! Reagan was looking at this slideshow I made and she said to me "I wanna go home Mommy." I said "We are home honey" and she said "no, I wanna go home." She thinks of Ohio as her home because that's where all her family lives.

Derek and I had not been to Cedar point in 8 years! We were very excited to go and to get some time away by ourselves! We started off with the Raptor then made our way to the Magnum, the Mantis, the Millenium Force and the Maverick. On our way to some of these rides we saw the Top Thrill Dragster. "OH MY GOSH!!!" I think I said that a hundred times. It shoots you off at 120 mph and you go up this 400 something foot hill and spiral downward. The whole ride is only 17 seconds but definitely a THRILL!!! I said "We HAVE to go on that ride otherwise we'll regret it." Derek said to me "I don't have anything to prove to anyone" LOL But I didn't have to twist his arm to get in line later on that day. I was so nervous waiting in the hour 1/2 line. The girl behind us said that it gets stuck at the top about twice a day. Thanks a lot for telling me that!!! Derek kept saying "Are we really doing this?" We got through it alive though and didn't get stuck at the top...thank goodness! My throat hurt so bad from screaming so much. Needless to say, that was our last ride of the day. Can't wait till next time!!!

Thank you to Aunt Julie and Aunt Lilly for keeping our girls while we were gone!!!

Morraine State Park

Yesterday, we went to Morraine State Park. First, we had a picnic lunch. Then we swam in the lake. Both girls LOVED swimming! Reagan had arm floaties on and held onto a nemo inner tube. She loved not having mommy or daddy hold onto her. She thought she was a big girl swimming around by herself! She especially loved it when daddy would swim underneath her and grab her feet. :-) We put Karly in a baby float and she was in her element too! They both love the water.

4th of July in Ohio!!

We spent the long weekend of the 4th in Ohio with friends and family. Despite the fact that we were all sick...we all had colds, Karly had croup, Reagan had pink eye and double ear infections and Mommy got pink eye from Reagan...we still had a good time.

We headed out to my sisters house to play at a nearby park. Elizabeth had a cool craft for Grant and Reagan to do. They sponge painted red, gold and silver fireworks onto black paper. Afterwards, we went downtown Akron for fireworks with Mimi, Papa, Aunt Lilly and Grant. Reagan and Grant loved the fireworks! Karly even stayed up for the late show and watched in amazement.

Reagan has nicknamed her Grandma "Hawk" She goes around saying "Hawk...where are you?" :-)) Here is a picture of Reagan finger painting with her cousin Alaina. "Hawk" was babysitting Dylan and Alaina and the two little girls had a blast together. Reagan kept asking Alaina for kisses. So sweet!

Karly and Dylan. He loved holding her :-)

We spent a lot of time at my friend Becky's house. The kids played while Becky highlighted my hair...love it!!! And we also got to swim in their pool!!

Sophia and Reagan are best buds when they're not fighting over babies or stuffed animals!!
